Details: The City of Côte Saint-Luc is warning residents about the many scams currently circulating by phone, email, and in person. Although scams can take many different forms, most of them share three warning signs:
- Urgency
- Requests for money or personal information
- Secrecy
If the call or message claims to be from your bank, a government agency, or a medical professional, do not respond directly. Instead, look up the official phone number yourself (for example, on the back of your credit card) and make the call independently.
